We’re near the end of summer but there is still time to hit the many beaches in New York before Labor Day. And, the Holiday Inn Manhattan View is a conveniently situated home base as you explore many of these stunning, sunny shores!
It’s no surprise that Jones Beach State Park is one of New York’s most popular beaches. You can swim in the Atlantic Ocean, walk or run along the boardwalk, go fishing, have a picnic, and so much more.
Past Jones Beach in Long Island is Robert Moses State Park where five miles of gorgeous sand and ocean breezes beckon beach-goers to relax, relax, relax.
Popularized by the popular Ramones’ song, Rockaway Beach in Queens features a beautiful beach, playgrounds and more. The city did a great job of reviving the beach following Hurricane Sandy.
The Coney Island experience for many embodies not just this Brooklyn beach but also tons of thrills on rides and attractions in the amusement area (home of the Cyclone rollercoaster), and a meal at the original Nathan’s.
Don’t forget a day-trip to the tony Hamptons, car-free Fire Island or breathtaking Montauk. They are iconic New York!
Once summer is over, you can still discover many of these beaches through the fall and winter. Better yet, make a trip during multiple seasons and consider the differences – from the look of the sky and sand to the power of the waves.
